Built by a support worker, for support workers.
Hi, I'm Alex, the founder of Swift Notes.
I've worked in disability support for nine years, and if there's one thing I've learned, it's that support workers already have enough on their plates without spending another 20 minutes at the end of every shift writing progress notes.
I wanted a better way.
So I built Swift Notes — a simple tool that lets support workers record what happened during their shift with a few taps, turning those selections into clear, professional shift notes in minutes.
What used to take me around 20 minutes now takes just 3–5.
But saving time is only half the story.
Good shift notes aren't just paperwork. They're an important record of a participant's daily life, their achievements, their challenges and the support they need.
When notes are rushed, inconsistent or missing important details, it becomes harder to build an accurate picture of someone's ongoing support needs.
And when it comes time for an NDIS plan reassessment, that documentation can be incredibly valuable.
By making it easier to capture consistent, detailed and accurate information after every shift, Swift Notes aims to help participants, families and providers maintain a clearer record of the support being delivered — and provide better supporting evidence when reviewing a participant's needs.
While showing an early version of Swift Notes to a family receiving disability support, they raised another challenge I hadn't fully considered: language barriers can make writing detailed English-language shift notes difficult for some workers.
That conversation inspired one of Swift Notes' most important features — multilingual support. Workers can use the app in their preferred language while producing notes in English.
And that's how I want Swift Notes to keep growing: through real feedback from the people who use it.
I'm not a big software company trying to guess what support workers need. I'm a support worker who experienced the problem firsthand and decided to do something about it.
My goal is simple: less time on paperwork, better documentation for participants, and more time doing what we're actually there to do — supporting people.
